Four days left for early bird A4DE entries

Riders have until this Friday (May 20th) to get their early bird entries in for the 2011 Yamaha Yamalube Cycra GYTR Australian 4-Day Enduro (A4DE).

The 2011 A4DE is being now being held July 7th to 10th near Mackay, Queensland. The event, which had been originally scheduled for April 20th to 23rd, was postponed due to extreme wet weather.

Entry forms and supplementary regulations can be found at the event’s official website: www.a4de.com

John Hand, of the Gum Valley Motorcycle Club, said the trails in the area were drying out and “the countryside is fluorescent green”.

“The four-day is going to be fantastic and probably a lot cooler for southern riders,” he said.

“If existing riders need to change bike details please email gumvalley@mcs.net.au as soon as possible.

“If riders are unable to compete due to the change in date, please contact us on gumvalleya4de@gmail.com.au.”

The 2011 Yamaha Yamalube Cycra GYTR A4DE will be one not to miss. Parc Ferme (the staging area for the race) will be located at the Koumala State School, Koumala, with four of the six special tests and the final motocross at the award-winning Gum Valley facility.

The other two tests will be a short 10-minute drive from Parc Ferme.

One of the special tests will incorporate the Gum Valley MX Track. There will be three grass tracks and two enduro tests.

Trail sections are set to be some of the most memorable in A4DE history, and have been planned for the scenic mountain ranges, lush valley’s and paddocks of the Sunshine State’s ‘Gateway to the Whitsunday's’.

“Not since the Coffs Harbour four-day in 2007 have people been able to combine a scenic beach holiday with an A4DE,” John Hand said.

“Mackay will offer the best of both, with stunning beach and leisure activities for the family, as well as great riding for the competitor.

“We hope to take the sport to a new level by having great special tests that are easily accessed for spectators and crew.

“For the riders, our four day will be challenging, but not too hard. It will be a good, tough ride, and offer an incredible sense of satisfaction to everyone who finishes.

“We are also happy with the location of Park Ferme, which is as close to Mackay as we could get it.

“Koumala is only about 50 kilometers south of Mackay, which has a population of over 100,000 and all the amenities and tourist attractions anyone could want.

“Mackay Tourism has come on board as an event partner and have developed a special booking form for accommodation, which makes finding a place to stay easier than ever.

“We are also very pleased to welcome a host of sponsors, including Yamaha, Yamalube, Cycra and GYTR as naming rights.

“For the dirt bike industry and general business community to be so supportive of this iconic event, even in such tough economic times, and in an even more dire hour for Queensland, with the flood crisis... is truly heart warming.
